Birmingham, Michigan. On April 12, Roeper Senior, Alexis C. Johnson, a resident of Southfield, MI and the daughter of Junior and Shonn Johnson, will sign a National Letter of Intent to run track and field for Wittenberg University under Head Coach Paris Hillard. She will be entering in the fall to study Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education. Johnson has been awarded and accepted The Wittenberg University Scholar Award and the Wittenberg Board of Directors Grant. The signing will take place at 12:00pm at the Upper School campus, 1051 Oakland Ave, Birmingham.
As a two-sport stand-out athlete, Johnson has been awarded over 30 medals. She excels in Track & Field with state honors that include 3rd, 12th and 14th place in Long Jump, and a 2nd place for Oakland County. Johnson has obtained six first and second place regional medals for long and high jump, and 400 meters, in additional to numerous All-Conference honors.
In volleyball, Johnson has earned both conference and regional awards: two 1st team all-conference, one honorable mention and two team MVP awards.
Johnson began playing at The Roeper School and has been a student there since Kindergarten.
