Roeper senior, Lauren Anderson, daughter of Lori Anderson of Southfield, was recently named a National Achievement Scholarship Finalist. “We are so proud of Lauren and her hard work,” said David Feldman, Roeper Head of School.
The National Achievement program is equivalent to National Merit, but is specifically designated for African American students. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation program was established in 1955 as a high school academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Students enter the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which serves as an initial screen of more than 1.5 million entrants each year. Students must also meet program entry and participation requirements, which can be found online at www.nationalmerit.org.
