Lengthen Your Engine Life

ru green? Brought to you by the Roeper Sustainability Committee

Did you no that idling is actually detrimental to the modern automotive engine, wastes gasoline, and is often done based on mistaken assumptions, outdated logic, or habit? Each day, Americans waste approximately 3.8 million gallons by voluntarily idling. When idling, engines do no work at peak operating temperature which forces the engine to operate in a very inefficient and gasoline rich mode. Fuel that does not
undergo complete combustion leaves residue contaminants which can corrode the engine parts, thereby shortening the life of the system, can degrade the engine’s performance and reduces mileage efficiency by as much as 4-5%. *ITCA. Let’s make Roper a No-Idle School
