Dear Roeper Community,
Thank you for your enthusiasm and input. We wanted to provide you with an update on our Strategic Plan and recent activity toward fulfilling a preferred future for The Roeper School.
As was communicated last month, we recently conducted a feasibility study that found great support throughout the community. The results, as noted, were exceptionally clear, and as a result, at a recent meeting, the Board of Trustees unanimously decided to focus the next stage of implementing the Strategic Plan based on these priorities:
I. Improvements to the Birmingham campus, focusing on the following three areas:
a.) Collaboration (commons area for students)
b.) Technology (media center and technology enhancements across campus)
c.) 21st Century Learning (updating classrooms)
II. Invest in the next 75 years (endowment)
In the coming months, we will begin work to refine these plans and continue to engage the community in defining our vision for the future. Our most immediate step is an architectural study of “programming” priorities for the Birmingham Campus; this process will lead to the development of conceptual designs for items a., b., and c. above.
As we study our use of space and the needs we have at Birmingham, we will examine the fundraising strategies required to meet these exciting goals.
We look forward to keeping you informed as we continue to pursue our plans to Reinvent, Reaffirm, Reimagine and Rebuild Roeper together.
