In the midst of your essay writing, you might try to save some energy for scholarship searches.  Some scholarships require essays, some do not.  But if someone told you they would give you $500-$1000 for writing an essay, would you turn them down? There are so many scholarship searches your head could swim!  You might want to register with one or two. You will probably find they have the same information.  By filling out a profile, you will be sent information about “random” scholarships that you could be eligible for. Here are some to check out:

www.meritaid.com ( a good one since it also lists college scholarships)

www.scholarships.com

www.studentscholarships.org

www.fastweb.com  (they will send you scholarships weekly)

Here are a couple that list upcoming deadlines.  These I don’t know anything about—no guarantees, and I cannot personally vouch for them. This is just information you can use as you are doing your research. Don’t get too bogged down in scholarships that only one person in the nation can win, but it won’t hurt to check them out.
