David Barns, a graduate of Goodrich High School and U of D Mercy and basketball coach for Goodrich until he passed away from cancer in November 2012. David’s Faith & Hope for Life Foundation will award a $2500 scholarship, renewable for three years to a student who best represents his academic excellence, athletic prowess, and commitment to the community. MACAC MAGGIE MILLER SCHOLARSHIP Maggie Miller was a high school counselor in Dewitt and Okemos who was very active in the Michigan Association of College Admission Counseling (MACAC) and also a good friend of mine. When she passed away from ALS, the MACAC scholarship was endowed in her honor, and is awarded to a student who plans to attend a MACAC member college or university (I can give you a list—basically all colleges in Michigan and many in Ohio, Indiana and some other states as well.) Applicants will complete an essay reacting to a one-page document, The Life Story of Maggie Miller. Roeper is allowed to nominate two students from among the applicants. Applications and copies of the Maggie Miller document are available in College Counseling, and are due to me by no later than 3/29/2018.
