Stage four robotics students, Tierney McGrane, Anjali Sharma, Ahana Singh, Alivia Teetsel and Dana White worked tirelessly in the fall to prepare for competing in the First Lego League this year. At the regional competition, they won the Grand Championship Award, recognizing a team that embodies the First Lego League experience core values, while achieving excellence and innovation in both robot games and projects.
They then went on to the First Lego league State Competitionship last week at Bloomfield Hills High School where they won first place in the Inspiration category which recognizes a team displaying extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit. To win this the girls were given a stack of newspapers and a foot-long piece of tape and were asked to create the tallest tower in 5 minutes. The judges were impressed by their teamwork!
