Lower School: Earth Day Celebration — Thursday, April 17th

The Lower School will be celebrating Earth Day on Thursday, April 17th with a wide variety of activities to cover every corner of our beautiful campus.  Please click here to preview our earth friendly, paperless Earth Day! e-flier or see below for a schedule of the day’s events.


  • Tuesday 4/15 Cafeteria Workshops and Trash Sort
  • Thursday 4/17 –
  • 7:45 – 8:20   Bagel Sale for “Endangered Animal Awareness.”

$1/bagel or pre-order for class by emailing Nan Griffith  Steward Bldg/Domes. Proceeds will be donated to Detroit Zoo.

  • 10:55 – 11:25   All School Scavenger Hunt Outdoor Assembly

Dress for the weather for an outdoor assembly adventure — rain or shine!

  • Throughout Day

Assembly with Sooper Yooper. Enhancing awareness about invasive species and importance of protecting our Great Lakes!

  •  Lunch – Waste-free Lunch Celebration!

Help your child pack a lunch using reusable containers. The average school cafeteria generates 18,500 lbs. of trash/year. Reducing waste helps reduce air, water and land pollution!

  • 12:00-2:00    Assorted workshops lead by staff                 

Engage, enlighten and empower kids with eco-friendly choices!

  •  3:30-5:00    Family Forest Fun

Our forest is the pride and joy of our campus but it needs TLC. Bring your shovel and come help rejuvenate our paths and flower beds.
