Stage III Brownie Troop #76639 enjoyed a fun, but short camping weekend at Camp Copneconic in Fenton the first weekend in May. Due to high winds taking down power to part of the campground, the trip was cut short one evening.
In an age of ‘snow-plow’ parenting where removing obstacles and challenges for kids has become commonplace, it was great to see our Roeper girls respond to the circumstance; a lesson in adapting and being resilient to change and circumstances that sometimes are not in our control. While disappointed about the shortened trip, the girls didn’t let it diminish a full day of activities and put in perspective how fortunate they truly are for the experience of enjoying time together in nature.
