The Daisy’s at Roeper, Troop 71124, were selected to exhibit their Lego project at the Detroit Zoo on May 20, 2017. The Day at Zoo was an official Girl Scout outing for girls of all ages. The Troop received free tickets to the zoo for one child and one parent for exhibiting their work. The troop created a deer made of Legos. Why a deer? Because the girls learned all about bees this year and where a bee might build its natural habitat. Bees, the girls discovered, can live in a variety of different habitats but their focus was on a hive in the forest. Legos asked that the group create another animal that might be found in a bee habitat . . . which led to the deer.
In addition to the above, the Daisy Troop ends their year with earning badges that reflect: being honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, responsible for what I say and do, respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, be a sister to every girl scout and make the world a better place. Great lessons for everyone and ones that have stood the test of time. Congratulations Daisy’s!
