Roeper Headed to Robofest World Championship

Members of the Roeper Upper School Robotics team had a successful day at the Robofest qualifying competition held on Saturday, April 14th at Canton Charter Academy. The Roeper team came in 1st in the Senior division and will advance to the Robofest World Championship on May 19th, 2018 at Lawrence Technological University.

To meet the requirements of the Robofest game, the students had to design an autonomous tennis ball collecting robot. The robot had 2 minutes to collect tennis balls on the playing field and place them into a box. Team members Lilly Richards and Steven Raphael, with coaching advice from Upper School Robotics Coach Clint Spevak, designed both the robot hardware and the software for this challenge.

All are welcome to attend the Robofest World Championship on May 19th from 9-4 at Lawrence Tech. More information about Robofest can be found at www.robofest.net.
