The 10th annual Roeper Benefit Talent Show is scheduled for Saturday, March 12th at Stagecrafters Baldwin Theater in Royal Oak. Jamie Lyons-Eddy’s homeroom students host this show every year as an opportunity for our 6th – 12th grade students to showcase their talents while raising money and awareness for a local organization. This year we will benefit The Syrian American Rescue Network (SARN). This Michigan based organization works to provide humanitarian and economic support to refugees as they reach self-sufficiency. Auditions, which require just a 30-second sample of the proposed act, will take place on February 10th.
Ticket sales will open in late February, but you can be part of this effort now by making a donation to help cover prizes, t-shirts, and other expenses so that the ticket sales can go entirely to SARN. Larger donors ($200 and up) get free center-section tickets, and smaller donors are invited to buy tickets during the pre-sale. We are also looking for one or two adult volunteers for the night of the show. Even if you aren’t able to help, be sure to watch the Roeper Record for the ticket sale announcement. If you can help, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
