Janea Wilson Accepted to Free Press Summer Program

 

Senior Janea Wilson has been accepted to the Detroit Free Press Summer Apprentice Program. Janea has been a member of the upper school Tuna Talk newspaper staff for three years, serving as Assistant Editor in her junior year, and as Editor this year. Janea will be attending Northwestern University this fall, majoring in Journalism.

One of her feature stories – “The Order of the Fighting Tuna – the Joke that Turned Into a Tradition” – will be featured in the upcoming “Keeping In Touch” magazine.

Former Tuna Talk Editor Nadav Pais- Greenapple ’17 was awarded a Free Press Summer Internship last year.

During the six-week paid internship , Janea will be working with a Free Press mentor and will cover local news. Watch for her published stories later this summer!
