7th Grader Alisa Harris a Winner in History Contest

Each year, Kroger invites students in grades 4-12 to celebrate Black History Month by entering their “I Can Make History” contest. Students demonstrate their creativity by entering work in the categories of art, music, essay or poetry.

Contest entrants were asked to “Describe an event or person you feel has positively impacted American history during the past decade and detail what occurred as a result of that person’s actions or that event.”

Alisa chose to write an essay on Bryan Stevenson as a result of hearing him explain his work and the stories he told during his recent visit to Roeper.
