Roeper Students Dominate Bloomfield Baseball League All Star Game

About 45 Roeper students played in the spring session of the Bloomfield Baseball League, divided in teams ranging in age from Stage I to 6th grade.  Playoffs begin this week, but All Star games were held over the weekend.

The 5th and 6th grade Roughriders White team elected six players to the Bronco Division 6th grade game, which they won 8-1.  Griffin started and threw two scoreless innings.  Alexi overcame some fielding miscues to pitch a one run inning and contributed at the plate.  Noah and Oscar blasted run producing extra base hits. Lucas earned the game MVP award with three hits and by striking out the side in two hitless innings, allowing only one walk.  Conor was elected to the team but could not participate.  Andrew contributed to the 5th grade All Star team with a triple.  Andrew was joined by members of the Roughriders Black team including Sam, who threw a scoreless inning, Tyler who contributed at the plate, and Taye and Lex who made plays in the field.

Roughriders White enter the playoffs with a 12-0 record.  Other team members include Jamison, Jacob, Ben, and Lennon.  Stephon Bagne, Brian Akkashian, Scott Simecek, and Scott Vartanian coach the team.
