Congratulations to Roeper Senior, Navraj Singh of Lake Orion, who placed in the top 12 on the US National Chemistry Olympiad regional exam! Over 200 students in the metro Detroit area sat for the regional exam, and the top 12 finishers will go on to take the national qualifying exam. The national examination will be administered April 22 through 28, 2014. The top 4 finishers on the national exam go on to train for and represent the U.S. at the international Olympiad, which will take place this year in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad and the International Chemistry Olympiad are multi-tiered competitions that bring together the world’s most talented high school students to test their knowledge and skills in chemistry. Nations around the world conduct examinations to — nominate the most high-performing students for the International Chemistry Olympiad.
