Roeper MS & LS Students Perform at Detroit Opera House, March 16th

BrundibarRoeper MS students, Ryan and Cooper Blankenburg, and LS student, Matteo Papadopoulos, will perform in the Michigan Opera Theater Children’s Chorus production, Brundibar, on March 16th at 2:30 pm at the Detroit Opera House.

Brundibar is a family-friendly show about a brother and sister who join forces with a sparrow, cat and dog to outwit the evil organ grinder, Brundibar.  This opera was first performed by children of the Theresienstadt concentration camp.  Holocaust survivor Ela Stein Weissberger who played the Cat in the original performance will be at the Opera House to speak to audiences about how art and music inspired her hope for survival.
