Brian comes to Roeper from nine years at Near North Montessori School of Chicago where he was a middle school math and science teacher and the director of diversity and inclusion. During his tenure there, Brian served on ISACS’ Equity and Justice Committee, helping to develop diversity policy for nearly 240 schools. Currently, he serves as a National SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) staff facilitator, assisting in the training of more than 150 new education and diversity leaders yearly.
Brian obtained his Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University’s College of Education with a focus on biomechanics and kinesiology. He later earned a Masters of Science in Administration from Northwestern University.
Brian and his wife Kellie are avid travelers, having visited more than 24 countries on 6 continents in a quest for new experiences and learnings. During breaks, you will find them backpacking in South America’s Andes Mountains, exploring culture rich Ghanaian villages or hanging with natives on one of the Fijian island beaches. Regardless of the location, Brian and Kellie enjoy identifying as what Dr. Steven Jones refers to as, “cultural explorers”. They truly believe that the world is their classroom.
