Jeremy Xido, Roeper alumnus ’89’, a Guggenheim Fellow, is bringing his acclaimed theater piece, The Angola Project, back to his hometown of Detroit. In Jeremy’s words: “At the heart of the performance is the city of Detroit. Traveling around the world, every story I seemed to tell and every film I made somehow always led back to Detroit. The film will be a collision of the mythological Detroit of my art work and the contemporary city currently undergoing radical changes.”
The Angola Project will be filmed in front of a live audience at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Thursday, July 14th from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The Angola Project is in part underwritten by the Lori Lutz Visiting Artist Endowment Fund at The Roeper School.
