The All-School Picnic is coming up on Sunday, Sept. 28 so I need to keep two facets of that event on your radar even though it’s only early August.
BLOOD: We usually collect lots of much-needed blood for the Red Cross at the All-School Picnic. We need your help:
1) We need one or two student organizers. This person or these people would help me sign potential donors up, spread the word and help run the event. The work load is not huge, the sense of satisfaction from doing good is great and the possible benefits for one’s college app or resume could be helpful. Please contact email@example.com if interested in being a student organizer.
2) We need folks interested in this Roeper blood drive to not donate from now until the event as Red Cross will turn you down on that day if you have donated elsewhere any time after Aug. 1.
BOOKS: Please start collecting books and other forms of media (games, software, etc.) to donate to the All-School Fair Book Sale. All proceeds go to the 6th and 7th grade trip funds.
If you want to donate, you can bring them when schools starts to either the Birm. campus (drop-off is just to the right of the College Counseling Office) or the Bloomfield campus (front of Sue’s office in the Domes). Also, during the Birm. campus Welcome Back event (August 8 10:30-12:00 and 6:00-7:30 and August 16 2:00-3:30), you will find my white VW eurovan in the Birmingham campus main lot. Just open the door and put the books inside it. If you have large amounts and want me to come to you for pick-up, please contact me by email.
Also, we need two book sale coordinators, one 6th or 7th grade student and one adult. Their job is to spread the word and oversee the large team of volunteers we always have for this event. If you can’t commit to being a coordinator, please consider volunteering for transporting books from the Birmingham campus, sorting, set-up, selling and/or pack up. firstname.lastname@example.org
